Life Lately | October

Unlike the previous few months where all the days have run together in an humdrum buzz, October has specific memories attached to it with positive feelings. Every weekend was spent somewhere different: hiking on Grandfather Mountain, relaxing at Ocean Isle, riding a train through the Virginian countryside, dressing up for Halloween costume parties. I turned 23. I saw The Head and the Heart with one of my best friends. My weekdays had more of a routine to them, and I started incorporating longer runs into my Monday mornings.

But most importantly, I found my people. I've been talking for months about how badly I want community, to feel connected to and grow with people around me, and I finally found them through a group chat I was randomly put into by a friend of my mom's at church. I've only known them for a month but in some ways I feel like I've known them a lot longer; it's never been so easy to be completely honest with people I've only just met and to feel so welcome in a group I've only just joined, and I love how a shared belief in the same Savior can bring such immediate closeness between people.
