Currently | Update No. 2

Coming off of eleven consecutive days of work to a free weekend feels like a welcome chance to catch my breath and get the creative juices flowing again, and I'm making the most of it by - what else? - typing away on my laptop in corner tables in coffee shops and borrowing too many books from the library. With the full summer ahead of me, plans are solidifying and I'm finally starting to believe I have the free time to relax, even just a bit.

Doing // Work work work work work work, as Rihanna says.

Aiming // I'm still trying to hammer out a work schedule that allows me to work part-time and volunteer extensively.

Listening // Beyoncé's Lemonade gets me going every early work morning, as well as Radiohead's A Moon Shaped Pool. I've also recently re-fallen in love with Florence + the Machine's albums.

Watching // The scifi love of my life Orphan Black is in the middle of its fourth season and it continues to amaze and surprise me every week. I'm also four episodes into How To Get Away With Murder and am not sure how I actually like it, but everyone assures me it gets better so I'm sticking with it for now.

Reading // I've just picked up Matthew Desmond's Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City, which is a nuanced and heartbreaking look into the housing situation of Milwaukee's urban poor. And I'm incredibly excited to start reading Hanya Yanagihara's A Little Life, as I've finally got my hands on a copy.

Planning // I'm looking into taking a couple mini summer vacations to local beaches and nearby cities, but with limited time and money it'll be a tight squeeze into my budget.
